3.  Know where to find the current BC catalog  You must have Internet and printer access  Choose a General Education pattern

4.  Bakersfield College GE ◦ Want to earn an AA or AS Degree ◦ Not planning to transfer to a 4 year school ◦ Goal is to go to work after BC  CSU General Education GE ◦ You plan to attend CSU Bakersfield or one of the other CSU Campuses  IGETC GE ◦ You plan to transfer to one of the 10 UC campuses or be prepared to transfer to a UC or CSU

5.  You would like to transfer to another Community College for a special program ◦ Print a copy of the program prerequisites

6.  Use assist.org to find transfer requirements  Review gaining school’s website for Admissions and transfer requirements  Plan to complete the “Golden Four” ASAP ◦ Engl B1a ◦ Communication ◦ Transfer Math such as Math B22 ◦ Critical Thinking such as Phil 7 (CSU); Phil 9 (UC)

7.  Assessment Scores  Competencies in reading, writing and math ◦ (Minimum standards for graduation)  Major requirements  General Education Requirements  Electives (if necessary) to complete 60 units  Semester by semester plan  Educational Planning course
