Application Procedure November 2013 – January 2014 1.Pick up your PIN number in Guidance in late November (when you hear the announcement) 2. www.ouac.on.ca 3. Choose 3 programs 4.Pay $130 ( additional programs + $44 each ) 5.PCSS sends transcripts electronically 6.Wait for Offers of Acceptance ( Feb – May ) Early Acceptance can happen in December 2013!

What marks? Highly Competitive Programs Colleges will use Grade 11 FINAL marks if you have not completed a Grade 12 required course in semester one. Eg. Nursing, Vet Tech, Paramedic, Game Programming, Graphic Design, ECE, Dental Hygiene, etc. SPOILER ALERT!

Peel DSB sends marks directly to OUAC and OCAS at various times of the year You do not determine what marks are sent and what marks are used for acceptances Make sure you have the proper pre-requisites for the program to which you are applying YES, grade 11 marks are sent when applying! Transmission of Grades

Are All Marks Considered Equal? YES! Summer school, Night school and Day school marks are all considered the same Marks at night school 2 nd semester are all sent at the same time as daytime semester schools If you take a course with the Catholic Board or other institution you must provide guidance with your final report

Other Information Some universities/colleges may ask you to fill out a supplementary application about yourself (i.e. your interests, likes, reason for applying) You may need to do a test, audition, present a portfolio, or attend an interview Some programs may need a criminal record check or even First Aid/CPR qualifications

Prioritizing Your Choices Does it matter which order I place my choices? For the most part, NO! Where there are exceptions the institutions are required to state this in their literature Best to prioritize your choices in the order that are important to you Ordering in this way provides universities and colleges with valuable information

Some Final Thoughts Take the time to review your application before final submission Do not use nicknames Create a suitable email address OUAC and OCAS will not proceed with your application until payment is made Make a copy of your final choices for your records Keep your passwords in a safe place and all your information sent in a file
