ANAEROBIC RESPIRATION A type of cellular respiration

ANAEROBIC RESPIRATION  Form of respiration that does not use oxygen.  Less efficient than aerobic respiration

OVERVIEW  Does not use O 2  Produces 2 ATP molecules  Occurs in yeast, bacteria, and muscles

ALCOHOLIC FERMENTATION  Produces alcohol (ethanol)  Used mainly by prokaryotes (no nucleus) that live in environments that lack oxygen

LACTIC ACID FERMENTATION  Muscles do not contract easily, produces lactic acid.  Done when your circulatory system cannot keep up with the amount of oxygen your muscles are using.

2 TYPES OF ANAEROBIC RESPIRATION

EXPLAIN IN 2-3 SENTENCES HOW AEROBIC AND ANAEROBIC RESPIRATION ARE DIFFERENT.
