Halloween is celebrated every year in Ireland on 31 st October. Boys and girls dress up and go ‘trick or treating’ in their neighbourhood. In school, we have a ‘Dress Up Day’ where the best dressed boys and girls win prizes. Barmbrack is a traditional Irish cake that is eaten at this time.

Christmas Day is celebrated on December 25 th every year. As we are a Catholic country, we use this time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Santa Claus visits the boys and girls of Ireland on Christmas Eve and delivers presents to them. In our school, we put on a Christmas play each year and perform it for our community. Turkey and Ham, mince pies, Christmas pudding and cake are eaten during this holiday.

Easter is a religious holiday celebrated every Spring. There are a lot of activities during Easter in Archbishop Ryan S.N.S., such as bunny hops, Easter egg hunts and art competitions. Cadburys is an Irish chocolate company and they make many delicious Easter treats.
