United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Plant Protection and Quarantine Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 Sec. 10202 National Clean Plant Network – Program Background FARM BILL 2008 January 2010 Establishment - USDA shall establish ‘Nat’l Clean Plant Network’ for pathogen diagnosis and elimination Products - Clean plant material made available to States for certification programs; and to private nurseries/producers Consultation - Consult w/State Depts. of Agric. and Universities Cooperation - Use existing Federal/State clean plant centers Funding - $5m/yr. x 4 years ($20m total) till expended Nursery Certification – Clean material available to States for certified programs and to industry
