1. THE FINAL AUTOBIOGRAPHY Memoir 3 Due: Weds. Dec. 3 First Draft of Autobiography Due: Fri. Dec. 19 Final Draft Due: January TBA (whether you are in school or not)

2. FINAL AUTOBIOGRAPHY DUE: Tuesday, January 13 th Submit the following: 1. Final draft to Turnitin 2. Final PROFESIONALLY bound copy in class with pictures 3. Rough Draft of all of your pieces – highlight and comment where you made changes **If you do not submit this, your grade will be marked down 10%**

3. Submission of rough/final draft- digital copy 1. As you revise, keep track of your new, perfect WORD file. 1. Start a NEW page for every single section– like chapters in a book (most books) 2. Size 12, Times New Roman 2. BEFORE adding images, upload this file to Turnitin.com

4. Submission of final draft- paper copy  Must be neatly bound:  Spiral/Other professional binding (FedEx Office, Staples, Office Max, etc.) This means you need to work on it EARLY. You should be taking it to these places on SATURDAY for your sanity!  DO NOT SUBMIT a Final Autobiography that is merely stapled in the corner, or in a flimsy plastic sleeve with a sliding plastic spine. Your grade will be lowered if you do either of the above.

5. Aesthetic/ overall product grade 10% Include:  pictures (of yourself, family, friends, places, things mentioned in your writing)  drawings (if you are artsy and so inclined)  cartoons (if you choose)  images of artifacts from adventures/ experiences (for example- your collection of medals from cross country) (Will add to the overall presentation grade).

6. The FINAL AUTOBIOGRAPHY  title page  Numbered pages  Make sure you are meeting the minimums for each section  Text must be in black ink on white paper  Titles and captions can be decorative!

7. What happens if I don’t revise because I like it the way it is? Your autobiography will not be graded. Even if you do not agree with input given to you, you must make attempts at a more awesome, polished piece of writing. Some individuals have less *required* revisions because their initial drafts were high quality. These people should still work on making the writing PERFECT in their own way.

8. Required Revision You MUST make changes to your current autobiography. YOU MUST PRINT OUT YOUR ORIGINAL MEMOIRS AND HIGHLIGHT WHAT YOU HAVE CHANGED IN THE FINAL AUTOBIOGRAPHY I WILL NOT GRADE IT IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS!!! This can and should include: adding details condensing excessively wordy sections removing any sections of writing that do not advance your story or characterization developing reflection perfecting word choice Removing clichés editing grammar (last step) - Revision is a necessary step in writing a publishable piece.
