Advice for Core Studies 2 In Section A, only answer on ONE study But be guided in your choice by the TOPIC rather than the study. Answer the question: if it asks you to describe the PROCEDURE, you don’t need to describe the results. Don’t evaluate in answer to question a) Remember the mark scheme: Point, Example, Comment for question b)

Core Studies 2: Section A For the suggest/what if question (c), don’t forget the 3 stages: 1. Describe your change in some detail. One sentence is not enough. (4 marks) 2. Say what effect this change will have on the results. Show off your knowledge of the results of the actual study! (4 marks) 3. Finally, look at the wider effects on validity/reliability/generalisability etc. NB: Examiners claim stage 2 is being left out.

Core Studies 2:Section B Four decent paragraphs in answer to a) Show off your detailed knowledge of the study in relation to the topic given. Four decent paragraphs in answer to b) Remember Point, Example, Comment!! Start paragraphs with something like: “The first advantage of studying cognitive psychology is…” Use the phrase “For example…” Prepare yourself for this question and question (b) in Section A by knowing all the advantages and disadvantages of everything!!
