APRUM : our town council Aprum, with its recently elected volunteers has some funds available Now that the rains have started, it is the right time to plant, for seeds will grow. They can hire a gardener. Being our leaders, we should unite with them to create & maintain PLP. We can get help from
10
What can we do? aprum Park Users Landscape Architect Interconnect APRUM, a Landscape Architect & Park Users We should meet & communicate about: Priorities Expectations Functions of the park Constraints And jointly establish some guidelines
11
BENEFITS: include volunteers there will be more security if citizens interact harmoniously & if citizens interact harmoniously & know each other better know each other better If they maintain the park there will be less costs there will be less costs If volunteers donate & plant plants …no cost for APRUM …no cost for APRUM …each will nurture their seeds, help them grow …each will nurture their seeds, help them grow
12
What are we going to learn? SKILLS SKILLS Teamwork Consensus reaching Delegating chores & responsibilities Planting small plants accountability
13
Information to be learned How to successfully enforce cleanliness standards Interaction of water, rain, sun, shade with plant growth Ecological baselines How to guide accepted behaviors
14
Challenges There needs to be very strong motivation for an individual to WANT TO FULFILL assigned teamwork. neither duty nor responsibility …are forces which work here work here Most people rely on the strongest person to do ALL THE WORK.
