1. Title: The effect of treats on hamsters when completing the mazes.

2. Question: How will treats affect how fast the hamsters will complete the maze.

3. Hypothesis: We think that the hamsters will complete the maze faster with food then without food.

4. Background Information: Hamster are native to Syria and were used for research. In 1948 Albert Marsh, a highway engineer, introduced them as pets. They are chunky-bodied, thick- furred, short-tailed rodents with cheek pouches and are secretive burrowers and hoarders. Being nocturnal creatures, they usually sleep during the day and play and explore at night.

5. Materials: 3 hamsters 3 mazes treats

Procedure: 1: Build the 3 mazes 2: Put hamster in the maze without the food. 3: Start timer. 4: When the hamsters find the exit stop timer. 5: Record the time. 6: Do this over and over for all three hamsters 7: After you finish you do these steps over and over again but put the treats at the end of the mazes.

8. Discussion: our groups hypothesis is not supported by the results because the hamsters completeted the maze faster with no food. With the food the hamster went a little bit slower.
