Introduction “After the Pattern”
What is your conclusion about the “pattern” God expected Moses and the Israelites to follow in building the tabernacle? Did it matter what pattern they followed? See Exodus 25-28 Could Moses build it “his way”? Could they build a “tabernacle of their choice”? Could they take a “vote” on how to build it? Could they assemble a “design committee” about how to build it? These questions help us understand the importance of Divine Patterns and Examples Hebrews 8:5; John 13:15; 1 Timothy 4:12; 1 Peter 2:21 We will investigate some “patterns” in scripture that emphasize strict obedience to God! “After the Pattern”

Saved by faith or the Blood of Christ?
Are we saved by the blood of Christ or the act of Baptism? Romans were… “justified freely by his grace” - Romans 3:24 “justified by faith” - Romans 5:1 “justified by his blood” - Romans 5:9 But, when were they justified and when are we saved? Romans 6 answers this question Vss “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” “After the Pattern”
12
Saved by faith or the Blood of Christ?
Romans were saved when… Vss. - 17, 18 - “But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness” - KJV Saved when they obeyed that form of teaching! Where they saved before or after they obeyed? “After the Pattern”
13
The Ephesians “After the Pattern”
Saved by blood of Christ by “grace through faith” Ephesians 2:8-9 They were baptized… “for the remission of sins” - Acts 2:38 “in the name of the Lord Jesus” - Acts 19:5 The element is… In water - Acts 10:47, 48 Were sanctified and cleansed… “with the washing of water by the word” - Ephesians 5:26 Saved when they obeyed and were baptized! Where they saved before or after baptism in Jesus name? “After the Pattern”
14
Is Salvation Conditional or Unconditional?
Paul preached “the gospel of the grace of God” to the Ephesians Acts 20:24 The Ephesians… Heard the word of truth, the gospel of their salvation - Ephesians1:13 Believed in the Lord Jesus - Ephesians 1:13; 2:8 Repented of their sins - Acts 19:17-20 Confessed - Acts 19:17-20; Romans 10:9, 10 Were baptized “in the name of the Lord Jesus for the remission of sins” - Acts 2:38; 19:15; Matthew 7:21; Luke 6:46 Were saved when they obeyed and were baptized! After (not before) they met the conditions of the Gospel of the Grace of God! “After the Pattern”

Is Salvation by the “Sinner’s Prayer”?
Denominational preachers teach: After one realizes that he is a sinner, they are told to repent Then, they are told to say… “Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. I am now asking you to come into my heart as my personal Savior” Then they are assured… “If by faith you have said that simple prayer, you have been saved” Who in the NT was saved by saying the “sinner’s prayer”! Is there a Pattern or Example? If so, where? “After the Pattern”
16
Is Salvation by the “Sinner’s Prayer”?
Where is the “sinner’s prayer” referenced, command or cited in the New Testament? Were 1st Century sinners told to “repent and say the sinner’s prayer every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins…”? Book, Chapter & Verse??? Or were they told to “repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins…”? Acts 2:38 No “sinner’s prayer” Pattern or Example in the NT! “After the Pattern”

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” - Ephesians 2:8-10 “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
