6. Others ways that Americans celebrate Memorial Day are more joyous in national. They may have picnics, fireworks, concerts, gatherings and parties, and memorials. Many Americans retreat to vacation spots for the weekend or hold barbeques.

7. A famous Memorial Day celebration takes place at Gettysburg National Park every year since 1868, featuring a Memorial Day address.

8. At the Gettysburg National Park in 1913, both Union and Confederate veterans gathered for the 50 year anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg to honor the fallen soldiers.
