Hadhrat Abdul Qadir Jilani There was a young boy who lived with his mother He liked to learn new things But schools were not common in those days He wanted to travel to Baghdad to study Travel was difficult and dangerous at the time

Hadhrat Abdul Qadir Jilani His mother gave him some food and money and sent him with a caravan to Baghdad The money was sewn in his clothes so no one could find it. His mother advised him to always tell the truth as advised by the Holy Prophet SAW

Hadhrat Abdul Qadir Jilani Robbers attacked the caravan and took everything One robber asked Hadhrat Abdul Qadir Jilani if he had any money. The money was hidden. He said Yes I have money but the robber could not see it The robber took him to his boss saying that this boy was lying claiming that he had money

Hadhrat Abdul Qadir Jilani Hadhrat Abdul Qadir Jilani explained that my mother advised me to always tell the truth so I am not lying He showed him the money Robbers were so impressed that they returned everyone’s belonging and asked Allah for forgiveness

even though his money was safe and hidden... Why did he tell the TRUTH?

Why did he tell the truth? His mother's advice His mother had taught him that it was the practice of the Holy Prophet SAW to always tell the truth He was an honest boy and interested in learning and education He knew one should always tell the truth

Keep company of the truthful - No one likes to be friend with a liar O ye who believe! fear Allah and be with the truthful. (Chapter 9, verse 119)
