Business Program Assessment Timeline – 2002 Course mapping by content area Faculty-developed Mission Statement Findings lead to informal /undocumented changes in courses. – 2004 : Administration-developed Mission Statement. – 2007 : Course mapping by content area revisited. Content areas expanded to reflect changes in business, e.g. “sustainability” was not included in 2002 grid. If changes were made as a result of the findings, they were not communicated formally.

2008: – Mission statement revised by faculty, edited by Advisory Council, and approved by faculty. – Program Goals mapped to Business Core courses. – Two business faculty attend AACSB Faculty Conference on Learning & Research. – Program coordinator attends workshop on Assurance of Learning at Penn State Harrisburg. – Program coordinator participates in UP Quality Advocate Video Conference. – Course objectives are standardized across sections of Business Core (2008-2009).

Program Assessment Priorities for 2009- – “Closing the Loop” Revisit the grid; connect grid topics to objectives by course; connect course objectives to program goals. (Jan) Develop an implementation plan. (Feb) Identify two-three objectives to be assessed. (Feb) Obtain/Develop necessary rubrics. (Mar) Collect direct assessment data. (Apr-May) Evaluate results, develop recommendations, implement changes in fall term. (Jun-Aug) – Assessment Grant : student learning/application of knowledge in BA495A, Business Internship.
