Children from Indian Lands are weighted at 1.25 regardless of where their parents work. But if your parent is a soldier and you live on base, you are only weighted at 1. If your parent is a soldier and you live off base, you only count as.2 of a student. Because it’s not fully funded, the “Learning Opportunity Threshold” (LOT) modifier formula is applied. This LOT formula means that some districts will receive most or even all of what they are eligible for. To be able to do this, the allocations for school districts like OURS are reduced - SIGNIFICANTLY. Impact Aid Issues…

The Sad Reality of the LOT Modifier 369,261 military children depended on Impact Aid to help fund their education and only 17% of these children got 90% or more of their maximum allocation. 117,420 children from Indian Lands depended on Impact Aid to help fund their education and 66% of these children got 90% or more of their maximum allocation. 25% of the 2009 Impact Aid Funding went to Alaska and Arizona For more information contact the Fort Bragg Regional Alliance at (910) 808-4189 2009 Impact Aid…

The Sad Reality of LOT Over 68% of the funding went to less than 16% of the 1343 school districts. This 16% (211 districts) got 90% or more of their Maximum Allocation. Many got the full 100%. 2009 Impact Aid
