4. When Invented  On January 30, 1883, James Ritty and John Birch received a patent for inventing the cash register. James Ritty invented what was nicknamed the "Incorruptible Cashier" or the first working, mechanical cash register.

5. What is the Purpose  It was made so that you could keep money in when you are working so you don’t have money laid out every were.
