2 TUESDAY, JAN. 7 Copy the following information about summarization. ABC’S of writing a Summary A- Identify the piece of text you are summarizing B- Choose a strong verb. Ex. Compares, explains, describes, presents, … C- Add a main idea Ask yourself what it is mostly about. Write the main idea as a phrase and attach it after the verb. Ex. Fun with Fabrics by Polly Esther teaches the beginner the basic steps of sewing. (Next, Add only important details from text)

3 WEDNESDAY, JAN. 8 Quick write anything and everything you know about William Shakespeare without looking at your notes from yesterday Write neatly and correctly. Grammar will count.

4 THURSDAY, JAN. 9 Think and write carefully about what elements you often see in a comedy. Then, write about usual elements seen in tragedies. Write neatly and correctly. Grammar will count.

5 FRIDAY, JAN. 10  Quickly have out your Elizabethan Era and Drama Notes from Wednesday.  Have out Mystery Identity WS from yesterday.  Copy the “I Will” Statement.

6 TUESDAY, JAN. 21  Think about the prologue of Romeo and Juliet that we read last week and what we learn about the plot that makes it a tragedy. Why were Elizabethans so entertained by tragic plays? Explain in 3-5 well written sentences why readers and viewers enjoy or are entertained by a tragedy.

7 WEDNESDAY, JAN.22  Think about briefly explain if it is ever acceptable for a child to go against his or her parent’s wishes. Try to support with 2 valid reasons.

8 THURSDAY, JAN. 23  What theatrical elements ( what do movies have) that make it entertaining and helps you understand the movie? Explain why that/those elements make the movie entertaining.
