TUESDAY, JAN. 7 Copy the following information about summarization. ABC’S of writing a Summary A- Identify the piece of text you are summarizing B- Choose a strong verb. Ex. Compares, explains, describes, presents, … C- Add a main idea Ask yourself what it is mostly about. Write the main idea as a phrase and attach it after the verb. Ex. Fun with Fabrics by Polly Esther teaches the beginner the basic steps of sewing. (Next, Add only important details from text)

TUESDAY, JAN. 21 Think about the prologue of Romeo and Juliet that we read last week and what we learn about the plot that makes it a tragedy. Why were Elizabethans so entertained by tragic plays? Explain in 3-5 well written sentences why readers and viewers enjoy or are entertained by a tragedy.
