5. Nucleus ANALOGY  The nucleus is like the CLUB OWNER because they control what happens in the club.

6. Cell Membrane FUNCTION  a semi- permeable barrier of the cell that lets materials in or out

7. Cell Membrane ANALOGY  The cell membrane is like a BOUNCER because it only lets certain things in or out

8. Mitochondria FUNCTION  To process nutrients and oxygen into energy

9. Mitochondria ANALOGY  The mitochondria are like a DJ because they play music to give the club energy

10. Cytoplasm FUNCTION  The fluid that fills the cell

11. Cytoplasm ANALOGY  The cytoplasm is like THE CROWD that fills up the club.

12. Vacuoles FUNCTION  To store materials for the cell  Ex: nutrients, water, waste

13. Vacuole ANALOGY  The vacuoles are like closets, desks, and tables in the room. For our club, the vacuoles are going to be in charge of the beverage table because it holds the food.  Also, if someone needs to leave Club Cell, they must see the nucleus first and then wait with the vacuoles.

14. Nuclear Membrane The Nuclear Membrane is the outside layer of the nucleus that provides it support and protection. It is similar the cell membrane, but inside the cell surround the nucleus.

15. Nuclear Membrane ANALOGY: like the celebrity’s bodyguard. The nuclear membrane supports and protects the nucleus at all times.

18. Roles Each of you has been assigned a cell organelle. Do not complain. They will not be switched. If you complain, I will find another place for you that is NOT in my room having fun tomorrow. This will be graded based on your participation and positive attitudes.

19. Group Work You will meet with your group to create a poster for your organelle. You need to include: Name of organelle Function Picture Six Phrases that would describe how you would interact with each of the other organelles in the club.
