Guitar Playing Challenges By: Andrew Ladera Why do some people find it hard to play or learn guitar?

How Carpal Tunnel affects your playing In order to play guitar you need "strength and coordination with" (Micek) in your fingers and hands. Carpul Tunnel affects both hands and fingers with numbness, or pain, because a nerve is being compressed at the wrist. When playing guitar you need both "alicricity and accuracy" in your strumming hand and thats what carpal tunnel prevents you from doing.

Difficulties in Two-Handed Tapping Two-Handed tapping is one of guitars most popular techniques to be used. Since you are using both hands in this technique people, who are new to this, tend to have some trouble at first learning. One trouble is "Producing clean, constant tempo notes"(deaththrashcore) which is vital to this technique. Peoples fingers also tend to start to hurt after a while practicing this technique. That is because they need to make sure that their "fingers are strong enough to really hammer on each" note. When practicing this you want to make sure that "each note can be heard on its own" and that is when you will know that you are doing it right.

Challenges for Beginners Beginners are the ones who tend to find the most challenges when learning how to play guitar. Mostly every beginner will have their fingers hurting a lot in the beginning. that is because their "fingers are building callouses"(Ryan H.) which tend to hurt when u play guitar. callouses are a sing that "your fingers are only building strength". As soon as the callouses go away you should be good.

My Perspective I myself have personally experienced most of these challenges. I've gotten callouses on my right hand before. Within time they actually do go away, like stated in the previous slide. Two handed tapping was a challenge for myself but if you take it slow and build up finger strength it actually turns out o be quite simple.
