1. MY SOCIAL ISSUE RESEARCH PROJET ETHS2410 SPRING 2014 African American males needed to further there education

2. My Social Issue Identify & discuss what made this an important issue to you and why you wanted to research it? We as African Americans need more black males in school and out of gangs The numbers of black male dropping out of school is too high There has been made more effort to address this issue Me as a mother of an African American child having to watch him grow up and see what racism he had to go through was hard for me that why I want the changes needed to se our children grow and have a happy life

3. Scholarly Research (no more than 3 slides) Article 1 was about how our African American children go to low poverty schools and high numbers of them wont graduate. I showed me that we need o do more. I made me want to help our colored nation. Article 2 was of our history and how the white men didn’t want use to learn how to read or write. I learned that it took along time for black people to get the right to read and write. Article 3 was of the black education system and how they are now trying to better the education for black males out there. I feel that as long as we trying to help our black society we will have great outcomes. This intervention will not only show our young black males out here that we are willing to help them achieve in life

4. Discuss your Intervention To open a program that is designed to show our black males out there that can have a better life if they continue there education. I would have a outreach team available for the kids to talk to if they are mad or hurt. I would have an intervention with the kids and also the parents. My goal is to see our African American males gain a higher insight of there life's and grow form there The cost would only be 1500 to run a program like this

5. Resistance to the Intervention I feel that there could be some resistance from the white community and also the police because we are trying to change how our color shouldn’t matter in life. We can show the community's and the police that we are trying to teach our children better lives then the ones we had.

6. Support for the Intervention I feel that most of the support out there will come from the African American mothers who are tired of seeing there boys either died or in prison. The support would be coming from the black community's My intervention will be to show young black males that its time for us as a black society to grow and have better then what excepted from us.

7. Impact of your intervention To see not only the impact of the African American community's but I want to see a change for all races out there. Why I feel that we as one community can help our black males became the next president.
