Why would I want to use this with my students?  There are four manipulative math games to strengthen students understanding of number concepts included in this app. Manipulating visuals is a powerful tool in developing mathematic concepts in children. These games target addition, subtraction, multiplication, and fraction tasks.  Its free and has great reviews!

Fill The Cup  This games requires children to add fractions by pouring different pre-filled fraction cups in order to fill the whole empty cup.  The different levels of this game in the app increase in complexity and therefore difficulty.

Make It Balance 1  This game requires addition skills.  There is a balance with a weight on one side that the student must choose another weight(s) to balance the scale.  The levels increase in difficulty.

Make It Balance 2  This game, in this app, requires multiplication.  Students need to move the weight on their side of the balance to increase or decrease the weight’s effect.  The levels increase in difficult and require students to move more weights as they master more levels.

Rods  This is a game that requires addition and subtraction skills.  It uses different size rods that can be picked up to place next to each other to see how numbers are formed. The student needs to pick the rod that makes the missing piece.

Why teachers love this app  This app provides instant feedback which increases motivation and confidence for students because instead of being rejected for one wrong answer, each of the four games shows the student what they are doing wrong and gives them opportunities to fix their problem for themselves.
