Each of these separate components fit together to create a working network

4. Hub serve as a central connection for all network equipment
Hub serve as a central connection for all network equipment. It also transports frames containing data to the destined PC. $50-$800

5. The switch connects devices together on a computer by handling packets and forwarding them to the destination Hub which in turn distributes the information to the destination PC. $100-$5000

6. The router is connected to more than 1 network
The router is connected to more than 1 network. It forwards packets of data between the two or more networks. $20- $2000

7. The bridge provides interconnectivity between other network bridges that use the same protocol. $50-$12,000

8. The gateway serves as an entrance node to another network
The gateway serves as an entrance node to another network. Gateways are the internet service providers that connect users at home to the internet. (AT&T, Time Warner etc…) $200-$5000
