NDIA Security Symposium June 18, 2003 DEPLOY WITH SPEED. PROTECT WITH STRENGTH.

Outline of Presentation The Need for Decon and CBR Shelters Applications Attributes Complementary Accessories Operational Issues Solutions The Future

Decontamination Shelters are required: - to remove hazardous substances from both civilians and response personnel - to contain the hazardous substances - to prevent their spread into the environment. Chemical/Biological/Radiological (CBR) resistant shelters are required: - to provide a protected area for emergency and medical personnel - to attend to the injured - to establish and maintain communications - to provide rest/recovery areas The Need for Decon and CBR Shelters

Rapid Deploying Shelters: - Are a critical part of the response infrastructure - Provide a lightweight, low cost solution for Military, Federal, State, Local and private responders The Need for Rapid Deploying Shelters

Applications Military Operations – Provide the ability to continue operations in CBR situations/environments Terrorist attacks – chemical/biological/radiological/conventional Fixed Facilities – business/institutions/government/residential Critical areas – remote or urban, civilian or military/government

Applications: Rapid Deploying Shelters Portable Decontamination Shelters Chemical/Biological/Radiological resistant Shelters Fixed Facility Decontamination Shelters & Airlocks Alternative Facilities – Continuity of Operations for Medical facilities, Communications facilities, Command Centers

Model 305, 450 sq. ft. Actual Elapsed Time less than 16 minutes

Required Attributes - General Rapid Deployment/User Friendly Minimal Logistics – Lightweight, Man-portable components for setup in areas with no vehicular access No Special Tools Required Superior Strength & Durability (all components) Unlimited Complexing Options - Interoperable Segmented Design to control Cross-contamination Complete systems with integral features, plus various options: HVAC, waste containment, litter conveyors, etc. Rapid Availability Price Competitive Superior Training & Customer Support

Attributes – Specific for Decontamination Multiple Corridors and Segmented design to provide decontamination without cross- contamination. The multi-stage process includes, at minimum: –Staging/Disrobing Area –Showering/Decontamination areas –Verification/Dressing room – conveyor system for moving immobile patients on stretchers. Diesel fired heater to provide water on demand Solution Injector for multiple decontamination solution mixtures Fuel and neutralizing agent configured for immediate operation Various accessories: air heaters, waste containment, stretcher conveyors, burn barrels, etc.
