Work Experience 2016 7 th – 18 th March 2016
2
The Process… Application forms and Guidance notes – with form tutors this afternoon. Think of somewhere you might like to work: hairdresser, school, office, shop, mechanics, engineers etc. Think about how you would get there everyday for two weeks. Talk to your family – there is a parents meeting next Tuesday 14 July at 6pm Approach an Employer and ask if they would give you a work experience placement from 7 th – 18 th March 2015 – always be polite! You have the summer holiday to find a placement.
3
Complete the student section of the form (Sections 1-6 & 9) Ask the employer (Section 7) and your parent/guardian (Section 8) to complete and sign their section. Completed forms must be returned to Mrs Ingle in E7 by 18 th September 2015 at the latest – as soon as you have it completed bring it in. Forms are then checked in school (Section 9) Completed forms are then sent to BEBP (Buckingham Education Business Partnership)

2 weeks work Experience 7 th – 18 th March 2016 Complete the form carefully – with all your details Think about where you could travel to – sometimes it is easier to find a placement outside Aylesbury Think about the types of work you may be interested in- complete this section even if you find your own placement – in case it doesn’t work out.
5
Ask the employer – to complete this section – You may have to return to collect it if they can’t do it straight away. You need to sign the form. Your parent/guardian needs to sign the form – Contact numbers are very important, we may have to contact them with Information. Return the completed form to Mrs Ingle in E7 as soon as you have it Completed. Guidance Notes will help you!
6
BEBP carry out visits to Employers to complete checks: prepare a job description any specialist clothing Health and Safety Child Protection If the placement is approved – a letter and parental consent request confirming the placement will be issued to you by BEBP. The earliest these letters will go out is January 2016.

When you receive your placement confirmation letter: Parental consent must be returned to Mrs Ingle (or you don’t go) You can arrange an interview with the Employer. (more details at this time) When you are out at your placement, in March, you will need to keep a diary and do a project about your work experience placement.

A copy of the application form and guidance notes about work experience are also available on The Grange website. The Grange School Home Page Curriculum Work Experience

Finance It costs the school £58.50 for every work experience placement found by a student. If you don’t find your own placement it costs the school £75.00 to find you a placement. If you decide to do two placements of one week each – then we will need to pass on the additional cost of £58.50 on to you.
10
It is very, very important that you return the forms to me in E7 by the closing date of 18 th September or it might delay your placement. It is also time consuming to have to chase you for the completed forms! You have one form to complete, I have to check all of them!
