3. The Importance of Recruitment Every Rotary club needs new, qualified members. They bring fresh ideas, new interests, increased energy and provide for future leadership. Each qualified new member increases Rotary’s capacity for service and ensures the future of our association.

4. The Classification Principle The purpose of the classification principle is to insure that each club’s membership is representative of the business and professional life of it’s community.

5. Classification Limits Each club under 50 member can have up to five members from each classification. Clubs over 50 members can elect active members in each classification as long as the classification does not contain more than 10% of the club’s active members.

6. Classification List Each club’s classifications committee should conduct a classification survey every year by 31 August. The result of this survey is a comprehensive list of filled and unfilled classifications that exist in the area from which the club can draw it’s members.

7. Classification List The list of filled and unfilled classifications is distributed to all members. Club members can use this list as a tool to identify potential members.
