IMPORTANT: Test must be performed on first test specimen withdrawn from the sample container. 2Remove sample from bath and wipe container dry. 3 Verify that the container is 70-80% full: 4Remove sample cap momentarily, reseal and return to chiller. 5With sample again at 32-34°F (0-1°C), remove container from cold bath and wipe dry. 6Remove cap, reseal and shake sample vigorously before returning to chiller for a minimum of 2 minutes. 7Press RUN on the analyzer to start heating sample chamber to 167°F. 8Turn on vacuum pump to evacuate sample chamber (pump has no power switch – plug in to start). 9Verify chamber pressure is ≤ 0.1 kPa (0.01 psi). 10 Remove chilled syringe and n-pentane bottle from cold bath. NOTE: Time between opening sample container and securing syringe into analyzer must not exceed 1 minute. 11Dry container and insert chilled syringe into sample drawing a 4 ml bubble free aliquot into syringe barrell. EquipmentMaterials and Reagents  Grabner MiniVol LVR Analyzer  TECA AHP-1200CPV Solid State Cold Plate (32° - 34°F)  Vacuum Pump  Syringe – Kloehn, Part # 17584  Pentane (≥ 99% purity) Scope / Objective This procedure covers the determination of the temperature at which the vapor formed from a known volume of air-saturated gasoline produces a pressure of 1 atm in an evacuated chamber of fixed volume. Note: This procedure is only valid at the time of printing. The control version can be found on the Meraux Refinery intranet. Completed Date:Prepared By:Approved By:
