1. Chile earthquake prompts evacuation

A powerful 8.3-magnitude earthquake struck Chile on Wednesday, generating a nearly 16-foot wave, prompting the evacuation of about 1 million people and triggering tsunami advisories as far away as California. Authorities reported at least five deaths. More than a dozen aftershocks of magnitude 4.9 or higher rattled residents. Chile is in one of the most earthquake-prone regions in the world. The country sits on an arc of volcanoes and fault lines circling the Pacific Ocean known as the "Ring of Fire." The area experiences frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Since 1973, Chile has had more than a dozen quakes of magnitude-7.0 and above.

In Other News Comedian and star of "The League" Steve Rannazzisi, who has often told the story of how he escaped from the World Trade Center on 9/11, now says he was not in the Twin Towers when the terrorist attacks happened and has apologized for his claims. For years, Rannazzisi -- a native of Long Island -- has maintained he was working for Merrill Lynch on September 11, 2001, on the 54th floor of the South Tower. In actuality, according to The Times, not only was he not in the World Trade Center, he wasn't working for Merrill Lynch, which has no record of his employment. Rannazzisi is also a spokesman for Buffalo Wild Wings. New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, endorsed Donald Trump for president Wednesday. Ahmed Mohamed was arrested and handcuffed after some folks at his school thought the homemade clock that he brought was some type of bomb. After he was arrested, his story took over social media and voices of support for him poured in from around the world.
