Number of main points In classroom speeches you generally don’t have time to develop more than 4 If you have too many points your audience will have trouble sorting them out. If you have too many main points, see if you can group them into categories

Balance the amount of time between main points a large imbalance means the other points aren’t really main points or you haven’t given those points enough attention Some imbalance is ok: 20%, 30%, 50% vs 85%, 10%, 5%
