How does a Reflecting Telescope work?

How do Refracting Telescopes work? The refractor uses a convex lens to collect and bend (or refract) light to the focal point, much like a pair of binoculars. (Like a concave mirror, the convex lens has the distinct characteristic of focusing light to a particular point.) The light is focused to the point of the eyepiece, where it encounters another set of lenses and is focused directly to your eye.

Big Reflectors of the world The world’s biggest reflectors are the Keck 1 and the Keck 2. They can be found in the W.M Keck observatory, Mauna Kea, Hawaii, U.S.A.

Big Refractors of the World The world’s biggest refractor is the Yerkes 40 inch Telescope. It can be found in Yerkes observatory, Williams Bay,Wisconsin,U.S.A.
