3. -7 < -2m + 1< 3 -8 < -2m < 2 4 -2 4 > m > -1 -1 < m < 4 Why did the inequality symbols switch? With any compound inequality they must be written with the least value always on the left Which means the whole Inequality has to be reversed

4. 2x + 3 12 -3 2x < 6 22 x < 3 +6 3x > 18 33 x > 6 X 6 3 6

5. 5x – 3 > 17 or 4x + 1 < -3 +3 5x > 20 55 x > 4 4x < -4 44 x < -1 X 4 4 X > 4 OR x < -1 REMEMBER With any compound inequality they must be written with the least value always on the left
