Compound inequality: two inequalities joined by “and” or “or” AND graph means both inequalities are true (think: between, alike) OR graph means if one or more equality is true (think: OARS on a boat, everything on one graph)

Remember absolute value means distance from zero and the value of absolute value is always positive. An absolute value equation or an absolute inequality is an equation that contains a variable inside the absolute value sign.

Absolute Value Equations: The absolute value of a, denoted by, is given by the following: If = a, if a ≥ 0 If = -a, if a < 0 Absolute Value Inequalities: If where c < 0; Becomes an “and” problem; changes to If where c > 0; Becomes an “or” problem; changes to ax + b > c or ax + b < -c
