3 businesses that relied on water for power started asking for a timber reserve upstream. Hunters who saw their game dying out, rallied behind the paper, forest and stream which aimed for the protection of the Adirondack Hunting ground. farmers and tourists watched hunters take their game to the level of almost extinction. After all of this fuss, reports were made to large news papers, people around the state were concerned about the northern wilderness. New Yorkers worried that a railroad built through the Adirondacks could cause damage.

4 It contains nearly six million acres. Almost half of which to the people of New York. The forest commission expanded to include a staff of sixty and eleven board members. The park is protected by rangers and forestry staff.

6 Boundaries The park includes all of Hamilton and Essex counties, as well as considerable portions of Clinton, Franklin, Fulton, Herkimer, St. Lawrence, and Warren counties and small portions of Lewis, Oneida, Saratoga, and Washington counties as well.
