STEMPower Overview STEMPower is a state-wide program sponsored in part by the US Dept. of Labor Employment & Training Administration This program is designed to provide you with knowledge, resources & tools relating to emerging STEM fields The Central MA region is focusing on four primary fields, which are: –Advanced Manufacturing –Biotechnology / Life Sciences –Information Technology –Clean Energy (green jobs)

Skills and Credentials: Discussion Industry-specific (you still need baseline KSAs) Updated knowledge requirements and credentials Related work experience Academic background/ professional development Success (“soft”/ “people”) Skills Transferable skills (please write your top 5 skills/ strengths - could be both “hard” and “soft” skills)

Brainstorm and discuss Challenges (automation, outsourcing, etc.) and Opportunities (i.e. social media, new technologies, etc.) that jobseekers face in today’s economy, as well as strategies to move forward (i.e. collaboration, think like an employer, entrepreneurial mindset, etc.)
