2 Basic facts about R & DA was established by Act No. 172/2005 C., originally by Act. No. 203/2001 C. (STAA) is the most important organisation in SR supporting R&D in all sectors – university, state (SAS), private and non-profit supports research in all scientific areas provides grant money from state budget to support research objectives of applicant provides grants based on quality of the research proposal is located on Mýtna 23, Bratislava, Slovakia

9 Evaluation criteria Scientific content of the project, proposed methods, originality, innovativeness and project timetable Potential scientific and socio-economic benefits of the results for society (separate criteria for basic and applied research) Expertise of the project leader and research team Existence of necessary infrastructure Soundness of the project (this criterion is so far evaluated by domestic referees only) Quality of the project manegment
