5th Grade Social Studies Students should realize their current position in the world is a result of hundreds of years of movement of people and ideas. As adolescent Americans, they come to realize the global community is more easily accessible than expected due to technology.

Similarities and Differences Among Cultures Despite the thousands of miles of separation, people of China, Vietnam, and America are, well…just people. Our basic needs are the same, but some of our cultural values vary because of history and location.
