Philosophy The IB-PYP teaching philosophy focuses on the total growth of maturing and developing children. The curriculum addresses students' educational, social, physical, emotional, and cultural needs and integrates the educational research, practice, knowledge, and experience of international schools with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCS). The result is a relevant, engaging, accelerated, and creative educational program. Specific questions, designed for exploration, inquiry, and study, guide Ashley's teachers and students as they work in the IB-PYP curriculum: Who are we? Where are we in place and time? How do we express ourselves? How does the world work? How do we organize ourselves? How should we share our planet?
