Pollutants Harmful substances in the air, water, or soil

Natural Pollutants : ocean salts, mold, plant pollens, forest fires, soil erosion, dust storms, & volcanic materials.

Pollutants caused by HUMANS MOST OF POLLUTION IS from HUMANS Burning fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas, and diesel) ½ from cars and motor vehicles ¼ from factories and power plants

SMOG (1905) SMOKE and FOG London Type smog: coal particles and water droplets in humid air. RARE TODAY! Photochemical SMOG: Sunlight + Chemicals in Atmosphere causes breathing problems, hurts plants, damages rubber,paint and plastics

ACID RAIN Nitrogen Oxide in atmosphere + water Turns into NITRIC ACID Or Sulfur oxide in atmosphere + water Turns into SULFURIC ACID Precipitation carries acid from air to trees, lakes and buildings!!
