2. Technology Skills  The students will be taking the PARCC test on Chrome books and desktops.  Listed below are the important technology skills required for taking the PARCC test: o Mouse Skills o Typing Skills

Mouse Skills · Drag and Drop/ Click and Drag: move items to a different location on the screen. · Select/Deselect: Choose by checking and unchecking boxes. · Highlight: color or shade in areas, texts and objects on a screen. · Redo: Put an object or text that was previously on the screen. · Undo: Take an object or text off the screen · Hover: to move the cursor over an object or word. · Move the mouse pointer on the screen. · Click to answer questions · Use a scroll bar: go up or down, or left and right. · Click on arrows to navigate the pages.

Keyboarding Skills · Delete: Use the backspace key to remove something. · Type: Use the keyboard to type out their answers · Shift: use the shift key to create capital letters while they are typing. · Tab: use the tab key to intent their typing. · Backspace: Use the backspace key to delete text. · Drop Down Menu: Use a drop down menu to choose from various answer choices. · Space bar: use the space bar to add spaces to their typing.

10. Students will need to click and drag different manipulatives to help them answer questions.

PARCC Practice Test  Now you will have the chance to try out a few of the practice tests on the PARCC website.  Directions:  Go to Google: type PARCC practice tests: click first choice or go to http://parcc.pearson.com/practice-tests/  Choose either View English Language Arts/ Literacy practice or View Math Practice Test (Green Bar)  Scroll down and pick the grade level you would like.  Choose Standard TestNav Version  Type in a name or a letter and click start test now  You can go back and try out other tests and subject areas.
