Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species 1973 Also known as the Washington Convention its was drafted in 1963 and opened for signature in 1973, and was put into force for on July 1 st, 1975 for all country's.

Description It is a Multilateral treaty to protect endangered plants and animals It is put in place to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten the survival of the species in the wild. More than 35,00 species of plants and animals are protected by this Convention.

Group responsible The Group responsible for this convention is the International Union for Conservation of Nature or the IUCN
