How can I come to the Media Center?

You can come with a class if you teacher has signed up. You can come on your own with permission.

What do you have to bring to come in on your own…? A GRID! With your name, and signed by a teacher.

Okay, I plan on coming to the Media Center. Are there any rules I have to follow?

Media Center Rules Master Rule Show respect and kindness to the staff and other students in your words, mannerisms, and actions.

Media Center Rules Keep our media center nice and clean. Take care and be respectful of all media center items, whether they are here or somewhere else.

Media Center Rules Keep hands, feet, voice and other objects in your own space.

Media Center Rule Gum, food and drinks are not allowed in the Media Center!!

Computer Use Media Center equipment is for educational purposes only.

Computer Use Each student must have a signed Student Internet Agreement form on file before going on the Internet. Internet is for specific research purposes only. Printing is 10 cents a page

Circulation Desk RETURN BOOKS HERE!!

Media Center Procedures If you are with a class, come have a seat at the RECTANGLE tables in the center of the room unless directed otherwise.

Media Center Procedures If you are not with a class, sign in at the CIRCULATION DESK and leave your grid at the desk.

Media Center Procedure Find a book to check out –Use the OPAC on the computer to find one –Browse the shelf –Ask the Media Staff for a recommendation

Circulation Desk Magazines and reference materials cannot be checked out.

Circulation Desk You can check out 2 books at one time One book must be an AR book on or above your level. Books have stickers with AR level, or just ask for help. The other book is your choice!

Circulation Desk Books can be checked out for two weeks at a time unless other restrictions apply.

Circulation Desk All materials MUST be checked out before leaving.

Circulation Desk Enter your first and last name and the book’s barcode on the Sign Out Pages.

Circulation Desk Hand book and Student ID to the Media Staff at the circulation desk. Book will be scanned and given back to you.

Circulation Desk A Notice will be posted inside the book “DATE DUE”

Circulation Desk If you are with a class, have a seat and wait quietly for the rest of the class to check out.

Circulation If you are here individually, get your grid signed, sign out, and head directly back to class.

Circulation Desk Overdue Notices Will be sent to you through your homeroom teacher.

Circulation Desk Overdue Notices Students with overdue books will not be allowed to check out additional books.

Circulation Desk Students with CHRONIC OVERDUE BOOKS will be called to the Media Center and parents will be notified.

Circulation Desk Lost and Damaged Materials If you lose a book, you are EXPECTED to pay the replacement cost of the book.

Circulation Desk Lost and Damaged Materials If a book is damaged while checked out to you, YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE BOOK.

Be an AR Star! AR will be starting soon. Look for books with the AR sticker on them.

Be an AR Star! You need to pick books on your level. Level is determined by STAR testing.

Be an AR Star! Rewards will be available each nine weeks for students who meet their goals and raise their reading level. Special prizes at the end of the year All focused on the 25 book campaign.
