5 Education Programmes with DOSB License The following education programmes are examples of qualifications which lead to a DOSB license: l Trainer for Sport-Specific Competitive Sport l Trainer for Sport-Specific Mass Sport (sport for all) l Exercise Instructor “Interdisciplinary Mass Sports” (in several sports) l Exercise Instructor “Sports As a Means of Prevention” l Exercise Instructor “Sports for Rehabilitation” l Youth Leader l Club Manager

6 General Guidelines of Qualification (DOSB) Guide to concepts for qualifications (e.g. trainer, exercise leader…) l First guidelines established in 1966 l Give general orientation for all persons involved in the education and training system in sports l Put together by members of different federations (revised in 2005) l Apply for all federations l Need to be obeyed in order to get the accreditation to hand out DOSB licenses

7 7 lProvides for the first time a framework which encompasses all qualifications within German educational system across every field of education, also sport lObjectives: - to make equivalences and differences between qualifications more transparent - to achieve reliability via quality assurance and to promote the idea that qualifications should be based on comparable learning outcomes German Qualification Framework (DQR)

8 8 lIn October 2006, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Standing Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder (KMK) agreed to work on the Development of a German Qualification Framework lRecommendation of the European Parliament and the Council on the establishment of the European Qualification Framework (EQF) entered into force in April 2008 lShortly after, the BMBF and KMK appointed joint “Federal Government-Federal State Coordination Group for the German Qualifications Framework” and “German Qualifications Framework Working Group” lFrom 2009 onwards, the DQR Coordination Group and the DQR Working Group worked on possible structures of the DQR matrix and conclusions on the validity of the categories German Qualification Framework (DQR): important steps

9 9 lDQF may be used as a tool in the process of recognition of non- formal and informal learning in the field of sport lLong-term goal: the recognition of non-formal and informal qualifications in sport by formal educational institutions lDOSB is involved in the working group of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research on the involvement of non-formal and informal learning in the DQR lExpected outcome of the working group: recommendations for possible ways to integrate non-formal and informal training in the DQR German Qualification Framework (DQR): Impact for the German sport

10 10 lOn 31 st October 2011, the Leadership Academy of the German Olympic Sports Confederation organized a conference on the DQF and the impact on grassroots sport lOn 20 th and 21 st April 2012, the DOSB organized an expert forum on the licensing system in the field of sport and the DQF lThe DOSB commissioned a study on the classification of the general guidelines of the DOSB in the DRQ which will be published in the following weeks lThe study, implemented by the Institute of Sport Science of the University of Erlangen, proposes concrete steps on how to integrate sport qualifications in the DQR lThe DOSB plans to use the results of the study as a basis for a further implementation of the DQR German Qualification Framework (DQR): Activities of the DOSB
