TAX-AIDE Hot Spot / Air Card ● The National Office will supply to each state funding to purchase Hot Spots or Air Cards to help a State reach the Program’s TWO goal ● The funds will be managed at the State level by the State Coordinator (SC) ● Funding for Hot Spots or Air Cards should be used after all local options to secure Internet access at affected sites have been exhausted 2013 State Meetings2

3. TAX-AIDE Hot Spot / Air Card ● The National Technology Committee has created a Hot Spot/Air Card application to use when a site requests the technology needed to connect to the Internet ● This application should be submitted to the SC 2013 State Meetings3

TAX-AIDE Hot Spot/Air Card ● Each state that receives funds for Hot Spots or Air cards at sites that are not at least 80% TWO are expected to use the funds to get to the current goal of at least 80% TWO for that State. ● Each State that is above 80% TWO but not at 100% is expected to use the funds to get to the goal of 100% TWO for the State ● Any State that is at 100% TWO will not be provided funding; but may be eligible for hot spot or air card funding under certain circumstances that will be determined at the time of evaluating all states’ requests 2013 State Meetings4

8. TAX-AIDE Hot Spots ● The National Office is working with Verizon to obtain a corporate discount that can be used by the Tax-Aide program for hot spots. This would include a device to connect to the Internet. ● If Verizon does not offer service at the site; the site is free to pursue other vendors. 2013 State Meetings8
