Romanization In linguistics, romanization (or latinization, also spelled romanisation or latinisation) is the representation of a written word or spoken speech with the Roman (Latin) alphabet, or a system for doing so, where the original word or language uses a different writing system (or none). Methods of romanization include transliteration, for representing written text, and transcription, for representing the spoken word.

The Union of Principates 1859 In our international history, Alexandru Ioan Cuza represents an indisputable personality: in the period while he was at the helm of the country took place structural changes that opened the way to develop the romanian state. Cuza prooved competence and patriotism, he ruled with dignity and lack of interest, havening assured a stabile place in the memory of our people. He passed away far from the country, at Heildelberg, Germany, in the night of 15th May 1875 and he was buried at Rugionasa. Before the grave, Mihail Kogalniceanu said: "His eternal memory will not raze from our hearts and from our sons' hearts, as long this country will have a history, the most beautiful page will be the one of Alexandru Ioan Cuza".

The Great Union of 1918 The Great Union of 1918 was and remains the most sublime event in Romanian history. Its greatness resides in the fact that the fulfilment of the national unity is not the work of any politician, government or party; it is the historic deed of the whole Romanian nation, accomplished out of a powerful longing coming from the vivid awareness of the unity of the people and channelled by the political leaders for it to be led towards its aim with a remarkable political intelligence.

National Day Of Romania DECEMBER 1ST For the Romanian people the year 1918 represents the triumph of the national ideal after a long time of fights and human and material sacrifices for achieving the national unitary state. This historical process developed on the entire Romanian area scored important marks in 1784, 1821, 1848-49, the unification of Moldova with Muntenia in 1859, the Proclamation of the Absolute Independence after the 1877-78 war and the representative meetings democratically selected of the Romanians living under foreign domination in Chisinau, Cernauti and Alba Iulia in 1918.

Way celebrated its national day of Romania Hora Unirii (The Unity Hora (dance) ) sung and danced on this occasion is a Romanian folk tune of a slow but energetic round dance joined by the whole attendance. The round dance (hora) symbolizes spiritual communion, equality and the wish for a common life.

The Flag Of Romania The Constitution of Romania provides that “The flag of Romania is tricolor; the colors are arranged vertically in the following order from the flagpole: blue, yellow, red”. The proportions, shades of color as well as the flag protocol were established by law in 1994 and extended in 2001.
