2. Mission of our school… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku The superior idea of our school is childs welfare. The school bases its work on love, wisdom, freedom and tolerance. The main aim of education is to seek truth, goodness and beauty in the world as well as to respect the other people.

3. A bit of history… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku School was established in Posada district of Sanok. After the I World War the school became co-educational. In 1957 it was named Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im Tadeusza Kościuszki. In 1983 the school was relocated to the new buildings at its current address – 4 Stróżowska Street. The history of our school goes back to the beginning of the twentieth century when Tadeusz Kościuszko Boys

4. The pupils… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku In our school there are pupils aged 7-13. The teaching consists of 2 stages: - FIRST stage (forms 1-3) – integrated teaching. Children get to know the surrounding world and learn basics of Polish, Maths, English, Information Technology and Religion. - SECOND stage (forms 4-6) – teaching of separate subjects: Polish, Maths, English, Information Technology, PE, Nature, History, Music, Art., Design and Technology, Religion. We have got children with special educational needs or mentally disabled. The school organises for them compensatory and rehabilitation activities. There is also an integration class in our school.

5. The teachers… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku At school work 32 subject teachers, 4 common room teachers, librarian, school educator, psychologist, speech therapist and aid teachers working with special needs pupils.

6. We take care of our traditions… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku The most important school ceremonials are: pupil nomination for 1 form children, taking the pledge by school graduates, national holidays. Our school has got its own ceremonial, flag and logo.

7. We remember about our homeland… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku Our school introduces our own programme of patriotic education. We teach about the history and traditions of our nation, remember about important historic anniversaries, every year we celebrate The holiday of independence.

8. School patrons day… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku On this day we organise competitions, plays and exhibitions presenting pupils works. The patrons day is the most important day in every school year. During the ceremony we remind the life and activity of Tadeusz Kościuszko. We light candles and put flowers on his monument.

9. When Christmas comes… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku Visits of Santa Claus and Nativity plays also belong to our school traditions. Classrooms and coorridors are full of Christmas trees, Christmas decorations,angels and stars.

10. Teaching of tolerance… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku We teach tolerance and respect for other nations cultures and religions. The history of our town was created by people of different nationalities and religions. We want our pupils to remember ancient inhabitants and their culture. We visit open air museum in Sanok, Orthodox churches, learn to paint icons and get to know the history and traditions of Jews who lived in Sanok before the II world war.

12. School theatre… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku Some years ago in our school was built a theatre hall. School ceremonies, competitions, plays and shows take plays in it. On the school stage our pupils can see many famous characters from fairy-tales.

13. We want to be ecologists… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku We undertake many activities for saving the natural environment: teach about ecology, organise competitions and projects, participate in Clean the world action, arrange The Earth Day.

14. We like sport… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku Our pupils achieve a lot of successes in sport. We have got some classes with extended PE programme specialized in judo, athletics, volleyball, table tennis.

Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku The pupils can develop their passions and interests by participating in following subject circles: artistic, musical, historical, mathematical, knitting, drama, journalistic, computer, regional, English, German, scientific and sports.

18. Our friends… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku For many years we have been cooperating with a school from Helsinki. They are our real friends. We have together introduced the project Map of Poland, map of Finland. Our pupils visited Finland and Finnish pupils were our guests.

19. Prevention and education… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku We introduce many educational programmes and projects. Par example health care, prevention of addictions, security. Our pupils are taught how to give first aid and what to do when their health or life is in danger.

20. Our school… Szkoła Podstawowa nr 3 im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Sanoku Our school consists of 23 classrooms, 2 computer rooms, 2 gyms, library, reading room, common room, canteen, scouts room, consulting rooms of school psychologist, speech therapist and educator. We want our children to learn in nice and well furnished classrooms. The school corridors should be bright and pupils friendly.
