2. So, Jesus Has a Vision of the Kingdom Coming to Earth Q: so how to proceed? In reality, 3 yrs! Orders? “Seek, save the lost” (Lk.19:10) Vs. 12 – “He spent the whole night in prayer to God” Vs. 13 – “He called His disciples to Him” Vss. 17-19 – when faced with multitudes, He (vs. 20) taught the disciples!

3. His Process… Jesus Himself set the example of ministry in motion! (watch this!) He taught His disciples (learners) Kingdom principles (hear this!) He made practical assignments in light of what He taught (do this!) Result: when He left them, they knew how to continue on -- they had seen this all along!

4. His Textbook: The Word of God “He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read. And the book of Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book….” (Luke 4:16b–17) (Later) “All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work…” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

5. Small Groups Were The Life of the Early Church Acts 2:46 - “house to house” Acts 5:26 - “every day…house to house” How did they spend that time? Acts 2:42 – “devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, prayer”

6. Fast-Forward 2000 Years School of Discipleship = S.S. S.S. classes offer: * Smaller groups for sharing/caring * Prayer coverage * Scripture study and application * Personal accountability * (to be added) ** outreach ** mission projects

7. 5 Goals For Every SS Class 1. Foster love - John 13:35, John 1:14 (growing relationships = a must!) 2. Promote fellowship - Acts 4:32 (“Koinonia,” not food) 3. “Stimulate love and good deeds” – Heb. 10:24-25 (mission, service projects) 4. Evangelize - Acts 5:42 5. Utilize spiritual gifts - 1 Peter 4:10
