7. In 1518 Cortes conquered Montezuma ( the Aztec empire). When he conquered Montezuma, he ordered to conquer all Aztec people. He had over 1,500 fighters, and over 1,000 of them were natives!

8. Cortes was able to kill Montezuma because of….. 1) Thousands of horses and guns 2) Secret information going back to his people 3) Smallpox and other diseases spreading
