Which of these are electrical products? All of them, and they can all be recycled!
2
How are they made? Disposing Using Making Extracting materials Transporting 3) Fuel is used to transport products to shops 2) Factories use energy and materials to make products 1) Materials are extracted from the earth, which are finite resources. When you are finished with it, you can either pass it on to someone else or dispose of it Throwing it in the bin means its materials get wasted 5) By recycling products, its materials can be recovered to make new products! 4) Once bought from shops, your product is ready to use

How do I recycle these? Recycling Banks & Centres You can take old electricals to your local recycling bank or recycling centre. Find out where your nearest ones here: http://www.recyclenow.com/ recycling-locator http://www.recyclenow.com/ recycling-locator Local Council Some local councils offer a household recycling collection for electricals – check if yours does! Shops Some shops such as supermarkets, collect batteries for recycling. Does it have this symbol on it? Then it should be recycled separately and not be thrown in a rubbish bin! Check your tablets for this wheelie-bin symbol!

Your activity! Use Book Creator or Comic Strip It and design your own story of how an electrical product is made! You should use any classroom resources available for your activity, and go through the stages of: 1) Extracting 2) Making 3) Transporting 4) Using and 5) Recycling Think about what resources are used at each stage, and how the recycling stage can help feed these back into the making stage to save resources.
