A terrarium is a land environment. “terra” means land. 3 plants we included in ours: Mustard Alfalfa Grass

Seeds Germination = plants sprout Needs: water and the correct temperature Does not need much sunlight until after germination

Seed parts Seed coat: outside covering of a seed Embryo: small part of seed = baby plant Cotyledon: food supply for the seed

Plants Chlorophyll: green material in plants Uses the sun’s energy, water, and carbon dioxide to make their own food = photosynthesis Respiration: exchange of gases between plants and animals

Plants Uses for humans: Cleans the air by recycling carbon dioxide we breathe out and gives us back clean oxygen to breathe in! Provides delicious foods!
