5 Inches and Feet 1 Foot is about the length of a piece of paper. 12 inches make up one foot.

6 A ruler is 12 inches long. A ruler is 1 foot long. 1 inch examples- half dollar, cap of marker 1 foot examples- paper, Digiorno pizza box

7 Centimeters and Meters 1 Meter is the length of a yard stick. 100 centimeters makes up one meter

8 A yard stick is 1 meter long. A yard stick is 100 centimeters long. Examples of 1 meter, one yard in football

9 1 meter is 3 feet. 1 meter is 100 centimeters 3 feet is 36 inches 36 inches is 100 centimeters 1 meter is 3 feet

10 Think about a pen… Do you think it is closer to 5 inches or 10 inches? If you thought 5 you are correct. Now think about a piece of paper… Do you think it is closer to 1 foot or 5 feet? If you thought 1 foot you are correct.
