3. First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting in establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

4. Court Cases Stromberg vs. California: A person held up a red flag in the state of California and was guilty. This is an example of the First amendment right being evoked.

5. Changes to first amendment There are very few changes to this, one making it against the law to speak or write maliciously about the president. It was also changed to allow congress to form lives.

11. Court Cases Memphis vs. Greene: The court said that blocking a white neighborhood form a black neighborhood was an act of slavery.
