Hernando De Soto was born in 1500,and died in 1542.
He sailed from Spain in 1532.
He was from a place called Mabilla in
Extamadura.

He set sail because he wanted to conquer Peru.

The part of the new world he explored was the Mississippi River.
He also died there in the Mississippi River in Memphis, Tennessee.
